Young Adult Ministry - "Taste and See"

The Young Adult Ministry has three main pillars within the ministry. These pillars are Scripture, Service and Community. We focus on events that are part of these pillars, but also support our parish community and its mission. We focus on ways we can grow together in our community.

Our goal is to be inclusive to all young Adults and provide a safe, faith centered space that is respectful and communicative. We want to meet people where they are at and grow together as a community and individuals in whatever way we are called. 

Let’s start with talking about Scripture. We have many opportunities to pray, such as Small Groups, Scripture Study, Confession, and Mass! 

We host small groups during Lent and Advent. These meet once a week and include readings, prayer, and discussion. In these groups we apply the scripture to our own lives, furthering our faith development!

We like to plan programming around parish activities like Confession with an opportunity to socialize after. We have an upcoming Confession & Charcuterie event.

We all joined for a number of different reasons, but all of us have found meaningful community through the ministry.  Not only do we come together to pray and socialize, but we’ve grown throughout our involvement. Here is what one of our members had to say:  “When I moved back to Pittsburgh, I wanted to make sure I established myself somewhere that I would have a strong friend and faith community.  I met Father Michael after mass and he suggested joining the YA Ministry.  I have found a great group of people to build friendships with, but also challenge and grow in my faith.  It’s so cliche to say that the people make the difference, but when it comes to this ministry, it’s so true.  I'm so glad I followed his advice and got involved."

We hope you consider getting involved. Maybe you’d like to lead an event or have an idea for a new initiative. Or if you want to plan to attend, but aren’t sure about a leadership role yet, all are welcome! We invite you to come for an event, share an idea, offer to lead an event, or contact us to join our Core Team. Come by yourself or bring someone! Those with children are always welcome to join.
