St. Mary of the Mount Church & St. Adalbert Church
Our parish, the Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Church as a whole have been educating people about protecting children and vulnerable adults. We do this by ensuring that those who work or volunteer in the church go through basic clearances and training.
Every Volunteer must complete the Diocesan Database, take the Protecting God's Children Class, as well has have Criminal Clearance, Child Abuse Clearances, and FBI Finger Printing or Waiver. If you are an employee or have direct contact with children, there is the additional requirement of and Mandated Reporter Training.
Honestly, this process can be as tedious as it is necessary. The best way to get you started and guide you through the process, or to get you back into the diocesan database, is to send you to the Diocese of Pittsburgh Website for compliance.

*Please note: The details for the compliance process continue to be updated as state and federal laws evolve, and new directives are created by the Catholic Church. As of 2021 the Diocese of Pittsburgh is using is a new database from "Virtus. " Also, once you have completed the process, a few things need to be periodically updated. At this time the FBI and Child Abuse Clearances must be renewed every 5 years, and Protecting God's Children training every 3 years.
