Planned Giving allows anyone to offer a contribution to our parish -regardless of your income, age or financial status. It also can provide significant financial benefits to the giver!
Do you have a will? Have you thought about who will receive your assets upon your passing? Most people don’t like to think about these questions, but they are important to consider. The Parish has a special “link” to help you to think about these questions regarding “Planned Giving”. This term is used to describe the distribution of your assets during your lifetime and/or after your passing, and there are a several options to consider.
A few quick examples of giving options include:
IRA (retirement funds) giving options that can help you to avoid taxes, especially when you reach the age when you must begin to draw the funds.
Charitable Gift Annuities -instruments that can pay you a higher rate of return than you would receive in a standard bank account and, ultimately, a gift to the Parish upon your passing.
There are other topics explained in SIMPLE terms on the our Planned Giving Webpage (click on "To Learn More..."), but perhaps most importantly, there are 2 contact people who you can call – free of charge – to ask questions and to discuss options about your estate planning. Don’t hesitate to create a lasting legacy in your memory!
