St. Mary of the Mount Church & St. Adalbert Church
Yearlong Small Discipleship Groups Forming
Do you crave deeper relationship, with God, your friends, neighbors, fellow parishioners? Yourself? Please consider joining us for this unique and potentially transformative opportunity. Mary, Queen of Peace Parish is about to embark on a full year of growth as the Body of Christ. As one of the ways to participate in the Eucharistic Revival happening throughout the U.S., our parish is challenging us to find and be Eucharist to one another and those we encounter. It is time to reclaim our identity and our mission!
In the yearlong small discipleship groups, (should you accept the challenge!), you will meet with a group of 6-12 individuals each week in one another’s homes. Using the resource Following the Call: Living the Sermon on the Mount Together, each group will read a short reflection for the week, experience Scripture and meaningful prayer, share a meal, and hold space for one another’s lived experiences, challenges and ideas. Small discipleship groups are “where Big Church gets small,” to quote Fr. James Mallon. They are safe and sacred spaces to find both challenge and nurture to live the Christian life, to be the Body of Christ. They are places for meaningful conversation, and honestly, for fun! They’re a place to make friendships that last, to see and to be seen.
We are hoping for as much participation as possible within the parish! Wherever possible, we will place you in an affinity group. We want all ages, genders, races, stages of life—there is a place for you! And yes, please do feel free to extend the invitation to your friends and neighbors, even and especially if they are not part of our (or any church).
Kickoff informational event will take place on Tue, July 18 at 7pm in the Café (former garage) at 403 Grandview Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15211 (right across from Saint Mary of the Mount Church).
