2022 FISH FRY The 2022 Fish Fry will be held this year at the Parish Administrative Center, 81 S. 13 th Street in the South Side, every Friday during Lent beginning March 4th and ending on Good Friday, April 15th.
It may surprise some of you (it did us) that prices for the ingredients for our Fish Fry menu have gone up in price 30 to 50 percent. Many of the container items are no longer available. As with all parts of life the Fish Fry is now going to become a little more expensive for our consumers. Any monetary donations toward the raw materials for Fish Fry would be much appreciated. Donations marked FISH FRY 2022, may be dropped in the collection basket, or mailed to the parish office.
For those who have never been to Friday Fish Fry, all items are made from scratch. The soup is made with freshly cut vegetables. The Mac N Cheese is flour, butter, salt, pepper, cheese and milk. The fish is hand battered right before it is placed into the fryers. We do buy frozen French fries, but if we can find a person willing to commit to peel and slice 100-150 lbs. of potatoes a week, for seven-weeks, Patty would be thrilled (her current volunteers will not consider this task).
Fish Fry doesn’t just need volunteers on Friday. We prep on Wednesday and Thursday, from early afternoon until 7:00 p.m. Any time you can commit, there is a job that needs to be done.
Anyone who would like to be part of this adventure should contact Patty Campbell, [email protected]. Patty works full-time, so she may not get back to you within minutes, but she keeps great records and will contact you.
Time, talent and treasure are the God given gifts that we all possess. Please consider sharing your special gifts to make the Parish Fish Fry a successful fund raiser. It’s also a great way to meet people!
We are getting the Fish Fry word out now, so that all volunteers may contact the Safe Environment Co-Ordinator, [email protected] to verify their status is up to date.
In the past, Friday Fish Fry has been a great fund-raising event for the parish. We hope we can count on continued support for the event, even though we may not have the wonderful community gathering aspect (dine-in).
Details and dinner menu choices will be published in future bulletins and website
