The Denise Hebda Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is in honor of Denise Hebda, a Saint Adalbert (now Mary, Queen of Peace Parish) parishioner since 1958.   Denise was born with a less than perfect heart and was legally blind.  In spite of the challenges God gave her, Denise graduated from St. Michael High School in 1977 and worked for 30 years, first at South Side Hospital gift shop and later at UPMC Presbyterian as a Respiratory Assistant and patient transporter. Denise had great faith in God and faced her many health problems with the greatest strength.

This scholarship is a $1,000 award to a Mary, Queen of Peace parishioner attending a Catholic High School in 2023-2024 and who displays strength in times of difficulties.  Selection will be based on the student’s short essay and a letter of recommendation from a current teacher.
