Almsgiving Lent 2023

LENTEN NAILS COLLECTION

The Lenten Nails collection of personal care items (soaps, shampoo, baby products, etc.) will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 14.  This Lenten project for the Mary, Queen of Peace Parish community provides a simple way for all of us to give alms to the less fortunate in our local community, and in the broader Pittsburgh area.  The donations are distributed to organizations such as the local food banks, the homeless in our community, Lifeline, and Catholic Charities, as well as to our own parishioners in need.  Please take a nail tag from one of the crosses in our two churches, and return the unwrapped item(s) or your donation of money to the church or the parish office by April 2.

• ST. JOSEPH HOUSE OF HOSPITALITY - 1635 Bedford Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Provides support to homeless men over age 50.  Click Here

• VAGABOND MISSION. Allentown Nieghborhood of Pittsburgh. Reaching out to meet teens where they are, to love teens and invite them into a community and into relationship with Jesus in the Catholic Church. Inviting parishioners to support our ministry by volunteering to cook or buy meals for one of our programming nights.
